Do the mother accept the young fawn after playing with a dog?
Watching fawns play is the best. We get 2 to 3 babies every June and we love to sit out on the back porch and watch them romp around. Momma deer means business, though, if they get too loud or rowdy. She stamps and headbutts them if they get out of control. Very enjoyable.
This is adorable! I read of a story of a fox and a deer too. at first the fox would nip at the deer heals and then they separated them for two week and then introduced them again, and meet each other like to friends that missed each other exchanging playing a game of tag. Mmmmm…..tender deer ribs there padnaa
The deer was definatelly just playing. I’ve watched young deer play several times. They’re very playful. sometimes they stand on hind legs facing each other and tap their front hooves together.
I’ve also seen one doe kill the fawn of another doe because it didn’t want its fawn playing with another fawn.
you’r absolutely right.
the dog wants to play, but the deer is not thinking that way
even if it was defending itself it would be really foolish bcos the dog could rip a baby deer to shreds
Why not used to seeing them like that ? They are cute and awesome buddies. That’s great.
@oceanla, You are sick…. Get out! You are being negative.
Right, because a baby deer would “defend” itself by running after a potential predator.
Awee thats sooo cuteeee!
My mom’s mini daschund played with a fawn that wasn’t much bigger then the one in this video last year. The mother chased her off first, then the baby came and wanted to see her, and they chased each other around the yard for about 10 minutes.
i can see that the dog is playing, but i wonder if the deer is really playing? Perhaps it’s defending itself.
What fun these two animals are having…I wish that I was there to watch the two of them having a great time. Too bad there is not more to the story…I would have liked to know how this came about…have the dog and fawn meet on other occasions? What happened to the fawn?
Thanks.
A beautiful example of how the sharing of time has no boundaries to those who maintain connected to the spirit of joy through the essence of play.
However, though it is an expression of beauty to see the lion laying with the lamb, it is just as beautiful to the spirit of life when the lion eats the lamb because it’s the true nature of the lions beingness.
