Upland Game Labrador Retriever Training

Labrador Retriever Blog | January 27th, 2010

Again I do not own a lab (pointers for me) but this was a DVD I found in my dad’s old video collection. Well this DVD is not that old. He said he bought it because he was considering getting another lab back in 2003 but never did. His black lab died in 2005 and he retired from waterfowl hunting. I found this footage interesting.

  1. Training with live birds is ok as longs as they are not game birds. You can use pigeons for this purpose. Your dog should be introduce to several species of live birds to ensure a sucessful forced fetch retrieve.
